The thirtieth Chapter of Cinder is very infuriating. We haven't seen much of Pearl in the story yet but her character shows her true colours in this Chapter. After Prince Kai stops by Cinder's booth at the market and they share some awkward moments, Pearl shows up from a day of shopping with her mother. Her lack of respect towards Cinder is noticed right away by the Prince and he does not let it pass.
Pearl can hardly believe that the Prince would be interested in Cinder and she takes note of the little gift the Prince has left behind. Fueled by jealousy we see how mean and cruel Pearl can truly be.
