Sunday Cooking - Beef Stew

Today we are sharing our Beef Stew Recipe. This recipe seems complicated and has a few parts but it is very simple to make. This is great for a cold day and if you take care of the preparations first it goes very quickly with little effort.

What youl'll need:
4 TBSP of Olive Oil
4 Cloves of Garlic
Beef Chunks (We cut them into bite sized pieces)
Flour

1 Cup of Grape Juice
5 Regular sized Potatoes (Cut into Chunks)
2 Medium Onions
1 Bag of Baby Carrots
Mushrooms (Cut into Quarters)

1 Can of Beef Broth (plus Bouillon to taste)
1 TSP of Dried Parsley
1/2 TSP of Dried Thyme

Steak Spice or Beef Spice (Optional)
Garlic Spice (Optional)
** We added about 1/4 TSP of each of these to add flavour, any spice blends you enjoy would be fine (within reason of course) **

Directions:
Step one: In a small bowl put enough flour to coat the beef chunks, a little salt and pepper, and spice and mixed it together. Coated the meat in the mixture. In a non-stick pan, placed the beef chunks, one medium onion (sliced) and two cloves of garlic (minced). And let it cook until the outside was brown but not completely cooked.

Step two: Chop or dice the vegetables, and mince the remaining garlic. Place them all into a roasting pan or baking pan. Cover in oil and sprinkle the vegetables with the spice.

Step three: Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degree for 1 hour.

Step four: Once the meat is ready place it in a pot. I put one tablespoon of powdered beef bouillon in the bottom of the pan and added half a cup of grape juice and scrapped all the bits off the bottom of the pan, let the liquid come to a boil. Once it has added the liquid to the pot with the meat

Step five: After one hour, added the vegetables to the pot also and repeated the process with the baking pan by adding the bouillon and the juice.

Step six: Once everything is in the pot bring to a boil and let simmer for one hour. After that hour; stir, added salt and pepper and served it up.

If you find the broth has not thickened up enough feel free to add some cornstarch!
