Continuing this week, we are sharing posts on how to make that boring old cake mix a masterpiece. These recipes will be real simple recipes that take a cake mix and add one or two ingredients to transform it into something new.
(Please note, we are not claiming these as our own recipes. These recipes have been floating around for a long time and are in most cases common knowledge.)
This week we are transforming a Golden Vanilla Cake Mix into a Fruit Crumble. You can use any fruit for this, fresh or frozen and add what you feel is necessary (to the fruits). Great combinations are berries and sugar, spiced apples (apples with cinnamon and sugar), honey and peaches (with or without nuts).
You'll Need:
1 Box of Golden Vanilla Cake Mix
1/3 Cup of Butter
Fruits (or Fruit Mixture)
Optional:
Ice Cream (we serve ours with vanilla)
Directions:
Place fruit mixture in bottom of baking pan/cake pan. Top with cake mix. Add butter to top (evenly spread out by tablespoons). Bake according to box.
