The thirty-first Chapter of Cinder is kind of back to a filler chapter. We learn that Cinder is forced to walk back home after being left in the market by her stepmother. It also highlights how hard it is for Cinder to get around without her foot and just how cruel her family actually is.
We also see Pearl and Adri getting ready for the ball and the lengths they are going to to be impressive. Pearl threatens to tell Prince Kai all about Cinder, which doesn't much bother Cinder since she believes she will be leaving soon. We also get to see Prince Kai's coronation. Everything goes off without incident. He makes a lovely speech and possibly gives us some insight to his mindset.
