Mushroom Madness 2021

This is our last week! And this is our last mushroom. This week we have four examples for you! As you can see the red one is the original one, so if you are making all the mushrooms look original with different backgrounds that is the graph you will need. Next, we have the yellow mushroom with a yellow background. This is the original concept we were going for. So if you decided to go that route this one will finish your blanket. Followed by the Blue Mushroom, this will go with the other mushrooms that have the colour changed for the Mushroom and the background. And finally, we have the green mushroom. For our fourth and final option, you can crochet all the same mushroom in different colours, either with the same coloured background (like below) or alternating colours as we have shown before.

No matter what option(s) you have picked or how many blankets you have made, we hope you have enjoyed this Mini Crochet Along!!

Mushroom Madness 2021

This week we are sharing the mushroom from the first game. As you can see it was a trouble maker. This mushroom is the only one that doesn't have a black border on it. So that made me think of option number 3. You can choose to crochet all these graphs with the different coloured backgrounds (Pink, Green, Yellow and Blue) and crochet the Mushrooms as they originally appear (you can find the original looks of the other mushrooms on our website, they are usually red though - red spots and red background).

However, I did find an alternative to my problem so below you can see I added a slight border to the mushroom. You can do this either by stitching it after the square is crocheted or if you are using mini C2C it would work out just fine.

And Finally, I created one with a yellow mushroom so that you can have a better visual for the other options. Either way, we created options for every style.

Mushroom Madness 2021

This week we are releasing a similar mushroom to last week. But you will notice one slight difference. This mushroom has the while background and the spots are coloured, the first mushroom was the opposite. Now again, this one worked with the theme I was going for, as you can see the green background and the green mushroom go well with the thick black border. But again, they didn't all work this way so I had to come up with a new idea.

Idea number two for our CAL is simple and you will be able to see an example of it below. For the second option, we suggest crocheting the background one colour and the mushroom another. So as you can see, we have the green mushroom with the pink background. You can do the same with the mushroom last week, keep the pink mushroom and change the background to green, all you would have to do is crochet the next two mushrooms in a similar way, one mushroom blue with a yellow background and one mushroom yellow with a blue background. Or you can mix the colours up altogether and make the random, as long as each mushroom is a different colour from the background and all the colours are used once.

Next week we have another option for you and see why our first idea didn't work so well!!

Mushroom Madness 2021

This month we are bringing back MUSHROOM MADNESS!! This new Crochet Along is taking over Saturday's this month and we are going to scatter some cooking challenges throughout the month so make sure to keep an eye out for that! Now this CAL took a bit of a turn as I was designing the graphs. My original idea was to make the four mushrooms from the video games. And though I did that I wanted them to be in funky colours. I had planned on doing pink, lime green, bright blue, and yellow. Only once I started a certain mushroom (yes I am looking at you mushroom from game #1) gave me a hard time. So I came up with four different patterns you can make using just these four graphs.

This is the first mushroom I made. As you can see my plan was working well, the thick border made it so that the mushroom and the background didn't mix together and it looked cute. I had expected all of them to look like this (spoiler alert, they didn't, but I made something work).

So using these graphs as I said you can make four different blankets. One the way I had imagined it, the background and the Mushroom matching (as above). Next week we are going to release another graph and show you option number two for making these into blankets.
